Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi is the federal capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and the largest of the seven Emirates that make up the UAE. With the Persian Gulf to the north, it shares borders with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman to the west and the south.

The Emirate of Abu Dhabi enjoys one of the world’s strongest economies as a result of its natural resources and its strong leadership. With around 9 per cent of the world’s known oil reserves and 5 per cent of the world’s natural gas, the economy has traditionally been driven by the hydrocarbon industry. However, the last few years has seen government-led strategic diversification of the economy, with several sectors identified for development, including education, aviation and aerospace, tourism, and medicine. The construction and development sector has grown as a result, with the development of property and infrastructure to support the current and projected growth. While the construction industry in Abu Dhabi was affected by the global financial downturn in 2008, industry commentators agree the market is in recovery and the majority of projects are picking up pace. Residential and commercial property remains a sound investment as demand continues to grow in tandem with Abu Dhabi’s population, which is expected to double to reach 3 million by 2030.

And with year-round sunshine, pristine beaches, spectacular sand dunes and vibrant city life, it is easy to see the attraction.
